Etihad Stadium

The City of Manchester Stadium, currently known as Etihad Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is the home of Premier League club Manchester City, with a domestic football capacity of 53,600, making it the 7th-largest football stadium in England and 11th-largest in the United Kingdom. Built to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the stadium has since staged the 2008 UEFA Cup final, England football internationals, rugby league matches, a boxing world title fight, the England rugby union team’s final group match of the 2015 Rugby World Cup and summer music concerts during the football off-season

Manchester City Football Club is currently undertaking a £300 million redevelopment of the Etihad Stadium, aiming to enhance its position as a premier destination for sports and entertainment. The expansion focuses on the North Stand, which will increase the stadium’s seating capacity to nearly 62,000. This upgrade will make the Etihad one of the largest football venues in the Premier League.

The redevelopment includes innovative features such as a new Sky Bar with panoramic pitch views, a stadium roof walk experience, and a significantly upgraded fan zone with a capacity for 3,000 people. The project also involves constructing a 400-bed hotel, a modern club museum, and an expanded retail space, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging matchday experience for supporters and visitors alike.

The newly expanded North Stand is set to open during the 2025/26 season, with plans for phased completion to minimize disruption. This ambitious project reflects Manchester City’s commitment to elevating the fan experience and creating a world-class sports venue.
