Grottes préhistoriques de Cougnac, Payrignac, Midi-Pyrenees, France

Discovered in 1949 and 1952, the two caves have been open to the public for sixty years.

They are characterized by a prodigious mineral vegetation surrounding authentic prehistoric paintings: ibex, mammoths, large cervids, human figurations, various signs.

Dating back 30,000 years, they are among the oldest figurative drawings open to the public.
