Getting to the Amazon is not easy. You have to fly to either Leticia in Colombia or Tabatinga in Brazil because there are no roads from the outside world.
These two are in effect one and the same town, smack in the middle of the rainforest next to the mighty river.Or you can fly to Manaus, capital of Amazonas state. Manaus is also reachable by road from Venezuela and by boat from the coastal city of Belem in Brazil.
