Mirante do Morro do Macaco, Bombinhas, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil
The fishing village of Canto Grande does not only guard one of the most welcoming beaches in the region. It also houses Morro do Macaco, a conservation unit at 191 meters of altitude and accessible by panoramic trail and medium difficulty (half an hour).
Even before reaching the top, the beauties of the scenery surprise visitors, like the various species of orchids – among them Laelia purpurata, symbol of Santa Catarina. Upstairs, the look is breathtaking, revealing the beaches of Mariscal, Zimbros, Canto Grande and Morrinhos, as well as the entire Arvoredo Island Reserve. The sunset at Morro do Macaco is one of the busiest in Bombinhas.
