Ukranian Memorial, Curitiba, State of Paraná, Brazil
In addition to the wide green area of the Tingüi Park, the visitor will find, at the entrance, the portal and, later, the replica of the old chapel of São Miguel, Serra do Tigre, municipality of Mallet-Pr, with its golden dome , Built in wood, in Byzantine style, where there is a permanent exhibition of pêssankas (hand-painted eggs), icons and embroidery.
Next to the chapel is the belfry, which symbolizes the integration of the new land and the importance of religion as the main source of cultural unity. In a house typical of Ukrainian architecture runs the souvenir shop, where craft products are sold.
The Memorial features a stage and a giant pêssanka, made by the artist Jorge Seratiuk. Folkloric manifestations and festivals typical of the ethnic group happen with support of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba and of the Ukrainian community:
