Parque Estadual da Pedra Azul, Domingos Martins, State of Espirito Santo, Brazil
The Pedra Azul State Park was created to protect significant samples of the regional ecosystems, which highlight rock formations of granite and gneiss . It houses one of the most important postcards of the State, the Pedra Azul, which has 1,822 meters, and Pedra das Flores, with 1,909 meters of altitude, and the interesting detail is the Pedra do Lagarto joined to Pedra Azul. Both can be seen from BR-262. Among the main plant species of the unit are orchids, bromeliads, ingás, cedars, cassia, ipês, as well as several species of cinnamon.
The fauna is diversified counting on animals like armadillo, anteater, jaguatirica, araponga, deer Catingueiro, trinca-ferro and sabiá, besides some threatened of extinction like marmoset, Ounce sussuarana and bearded monkey. It is one of the parks most visited by tourists in the State, mainly in the winter period.
