Praia da Lua Beach, Manaus, State of Amazonas, Brazil
An island beach, located 23 miles off the coast of Manaus from the Ponta Negra area, the Praia da Lua is a popular haunt for anyone who’s looking to get away from the city. Accessible only by water, there are ferries that will take you to and from the beach; you could also rent a speedboat and ride it there.
This ‘moon beach’ as it’s called because of its crescent shape is a sight for sore eyes with white sands and water reminiscent of the English tea. Rightly dubbed as the best beach of Manaus, the Praia da Lua is an excellent place to take a dip or just sit back and bask in the sun with some beer.
There are plenty of eateries along the beach, but they are rather pricey; if you’re on a budget, pack a picnic lunch. Open all around the year, there’s no surprise why the Praia da Lua is one of the most visited places in Manaus.
