Surrounded by centuries-old majestic government buildings that date back to 1812, this park provides a much-needed green spot in a bustling downtown area. At lunchtime each afternoon it springs to life when those working in the neighborhood come to relax, eat, and soak in sunshine on its grassy lawns.
Many large, beautiful parks are located within the city’s boundaries and are operated and maintained by the los angeles city recreation and parks department. Department property which includes aquatic centers, recreation centers , pre-school age license child care centers , senior citizen centers and other centers are listed in those respective areas of this site. Many of our recreation centers have picnic areas, sports fields, and other park features.
