To evolve and adapt is what makes us human, and cooking is what sets us apart from the animals. Modern, plush eatery offering elevated, modern Indian plates alongside shaken cocktails & wine. When you come to Opheem, you get an insight into the inner workings of my mind. We’re striving to push the boundaries with Indian flavours, but with cooking techniques from all over the world, some traditional, and some very modern. At Opheem, I’ll be using the same paints as I’ve always done, to create a very different picture, on a very, very different canvas. Why? Because to evolve and adapt is what makes us human, and cooking is what sets us apart from the animals.
If Indian is your favourite cuisine, the progressive cooking at Summer Row’s Opheem is an absolute must. Using a variety of traditional and modern techniques, this is the place to go if you want to discover how Indian food has evolved and where its boundaries can be pushed to. Aston-born Aktar Islam is the head chef and owner, and he has produced a menu which combines recipes from as far back as the 15th century, with others passed down through his family. Lots of different regions and influences are represented, so don’t miss the seasonal tasting menus for the broadest view of Opheem’s capabilities.
